You will also experience traditional rural life, including simple farming activities and maybe goat milking Then, we travel to Tzermiado, where the cooking lesson takes place in a local taverna. With guidance from local cooks, you will learn how to prepare classic Cretan recipes, such as: Dakos (a refreshing local dish with tomatoes and cheese), Dolmadakia (delicate vine leaves stuffed with a flavorful mixture of rice and herbs), Tzatziki (the classic Greek yogurt dip with cucumber, garlic, and herbs), and Mizithropitakia (delicious little pies filled with mizithra, a local cheese). Savor locally produced raki or Greek coffee as you cook. The focus is on learning techniques and ingredients. During the lesson, you can enjoy a glass of homemade raki or a cup of Greek coffee. After the lesson, you will have free time in Tzermiado. If you wish, you may stay at the taverna and order a meal separately.
